Lillian S. Tanner

Lillian S. Tanner, 87, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:05 A.M., Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at the Magnolia Manor in Metropolis, IL
Lillian was a retired seamstress at the Pinckneyville Garment Company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin and had worked with the Baptist Church Nursery. She was a member of the Silver Threads Club and the ILGWU.
She was born July 7, 1914 at St. Louis, MO the daughter of Charles J. and Wilmina (Echterhoff) Volpert.
She married August H. Tanner he preceded her in death in 1985.
She is survived by two daughters- Alma Jean McKeller and husband Donald of Joliet, IL, Patricia Huite and husband Harry of Metropolis, IL, daughter-in-law- Doris Tanner of Streator, IL, brother- Everett Volpert and wife Mary of Kansas, ten grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- James Tanner, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 4, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Shaw DeMent and Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating.
Friends called from 9 to 11 A.M., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville.
Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church Nursery.
